Two Armenian soldiers killed in military car crash – Defense Ministry
Two Armenian servicemen were killed and two others were injured in a military car crash near the village of Khnatsakh in Syunik Province late on Sunday, the Defense Ministry reported on Monday.
The UAZ vehicle carrying the soldiers rolled into a ravine because of an avalanche at around 7:40pm, the ministry said.
Contract soldiers Zorand Arzumanyan and Zorak Yeranosyan were killed in the crash. The two injured servicemen were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“The crew of the vehicle displayed selflessness trying to reach out to the other servicemen of their unit despite the adverse weather conditions,” the Defense Ministry said, expressing condolences to the deceased troops’ families and friends.
