Armenian parliament denies media reports about bonuses
The Armenian National Assembly has refuted reports from the Zhoghovurd daily suggesting the new chief of the Armenian parliament staff, David Arakelyan, awarded bonuses to the aides of the ruling Civil Contract faction MPs in January.
“The assistants to the Civil Contract faction MPs did not receive bonuses in January,” the parliament said in a statement on Wednesday.
“We would also like to inform you that the National Assembly staff, including all deputies' assistants, are awarded bonuses worth 15 percent of their salary every month, which has been halved from the 30 percent of the previous year.
“We ask the media to officially verify the reports they receive from their sources before disseminating them,” reads the statement.
