Armenian MP warns of risk of fresh military aggression by Azerbaijan
Armenian opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan has warned of a risk of new military aggression by Azerbaijan.
“The Azerbaijani propaganda machine spread two reports on Sunday. Citing anonymous sources, the first report signaled a planned attack on Syunik in the near future, while the second one was about attacks on Azerbaijani pipelines from Armenia,” Abrahamyan, the secretary of the Pativ Unem faction, wrote on Facebook on Monday.
He called attention to the Baku propaganda report accusing Armenia and Iran of preparing an “aggression” against Azerbaijan a few months ago.
“Given various factors, a new risk of regional escalation is emerging, and the main problem here is how the Armenian authorities are going to respond to it,” the MP said.
“The question is, of course, more rhetorical since the current government is more likely to drag Armenia into conflicts rather than to counteract them. A rather dangerous environment is forming around us, which is posing a serious threat to Armenia and Artsakh,” he stated.
