
13 Armenian players compete at European Individual Chess Championship
Thirteen chess players from Armenia are set to compete at the 2023 European Individual Chess Championship to be held in Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia from 2-14 March, the Armenian Chess Federation reported.
The Armenian team includes GMs Gabriel Sargissian, Haik Martirosyan, Manuel Petrosyan, Shant Sargsyan, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, Robert Hovhannisyan, IMs Mamikon Gharibyan, Emin Ohanyan, Armen Barseghyan, Vahe Danielyan, FMs Alex Sahakyan, Robert Piliposyan and Sargis Manukyan.
Gabriel Sargissian (2699) and Haik Martirosyan (2686) are among the top-seeds.
The event has broken the participation record with more than 490 players coming from 40 European federations.
