Government provides 1.1 bln drams to Yerevan Municipality for new subway station
The Armenian government on Thursday decided to allocate 1.1 billion drams to the Yerevan Municipality for the development of a new subway station project in Yerevan’s Ajapnyak administrative district.
Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan said at the cabinet meeting that the work consists of three stages, with the first stage already completed.
“The Yerevan Municipality has already provided 545 million drams for the work, while the total cost of the project is 1 billion 848 million drams. The remainder will be covered by the Municipality,” the minister said.
The construction of the new station is expected to take two years, Deputy Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan noted.
The total length of the new tunnel is around 1.5 km. The project also envisages the construction of a bridge either with reinforced concrete columns or metal trusses.
