Armenian politician urges response to Azeri diplomat's 'Zangezur Corridor' remarks
Artak Zakaryan, the deputy chair of the opposition Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and a former defense minister, has strongly urged the Armenian authorities to respond to the latest remarks of Azerbaijani Ambassador to Germany Nasimi Aghayev concerning the overland connection between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan through Armenian territory.
In a tweet on Friday, the Azeri diplomat claimed that the infrastructure “connecting mainland Azerbaijan with its Nakhchivan region via Armenia is now 75 percent complete”, adding the “Zangezur Corridor” hashtag.
“What does it mean? Is it about the ambassador’s dream, a response to German Chancellor Scholz’s statement on the "right to self-determination", or has Nikol [Pashinyan] secretly agreed to the opening of the "Zangezur Corridor" and is deceiving us yet again?” Zakaryan wrote on Facebook.
“I demand that the Armenian Foreign Ministry officials respond to the Azerbaijan ambassador’s statement,” the politician stressed.
