Yerevan court again postpones hearing in 'Silva's case'
The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction on Tuesday again postponed a hearing in “Silva's case” involving Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan and former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan, who is currently an MP from the opposition Hayastan bloc.
Kocharyan could not attend the hearing due to health reasons, his legal team said in a statement.
Presenting judge Anna Danibekyan decided to reschedule the hearing for April 18.
Robert Kocharyan is accused of receiving bribes from businesswoman Silva Hambardzumyan while in power. He denies any wrongdoing, calling the charges politically motivated.
He served as Armenia’s president from 1998 to 2008.
