His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, issued a congratulatory message on International Women's Day celebrated on March 8, highlighting women’s role in preserving the family well-being, as well as in the public and state affairs of the country.

"Dear mothers and sisters, our national traditions are preserved and passed down for generations thanks to your devotion to family and the homeland. And your care nurtures and raises sons devoted to the nation and the Church, who in the most decisive moments of our history, as well as during the Artsakh war and now, heroically and selflessly carry out the sacred mission of protecting the homeland," the Armenian religious leader said.

He believes that today everyone’s duty is to ensure a safe and peaceful future for the country through their daily work, unanimously support the Armenians of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) under blockade and show special care for the wounded servicemen and families of the fallen soldiers.
