European Chess Championship: 5 Armenian players win in penultimate round
The penultimate round of the European Individual Chess Championship 2023 was played in Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia on Sunday.
Among the Armenian chess players, Robert Hovhannisyan, Robert Piliposyan, Armen Barseghyan, Aleks Sahakyan and Sargis Manukyan emerged victorious in the 10th round, the Armenian Chess Federation reported.
The games of Haik Martirosyan, Gabriel Sargissian, Manuel Petrosyan, Shant Sargsyan, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan and Emin Ohanyan ended in a draw.
Alexey Sarana and Kirill Shevchenko share the lead scoring 8 points each.
Robert Hovhannisyan has scored 7 points.
