French MEP: Azerbaijan's demands for corridor through Armenia a threat to Europe
Hervé Juvin, a French member of the European Parliament, has called for stronger EU support for Armenia, stressing Azerbaijan’s demands for a corridor connecting it to Turkey through Armenia’s Syunik Province pose a threat to Europe.
“Azerbaijan’s desire to get a corridor to Turkey through Syunik poses a geopolitical threat to Europe,” he told a European Parliament debate on EU-Armenia relations on Tuesday.
Juvin claimed Azerbaijan exports Russian gas to Europe.
“We must step up support for Armenia, where hundreds of thousands of Armenians fear for their lives,” the MEP said.
