Protest in support of Artsakh held outside Armenian government
Activists of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Youth Union on Wednesday held a protest with their mouths taped outside the Armenian government building in central Yerevan to show support for Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and condemn the authorities’ silence over the situation in Artsakh amid the blockade imposed by Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan's blockade of the Lachin Corridor, the sole connection between Artsakh and Armenia, entered the 100th day on Tuesday.
The demonstrators held posters reading, “Open the Lifeline!”, “Artsakh Strong!”, “Stop, Nikol!” and others.
They accuse Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s administration of plotting to give away Artsakh to Azerbaijan, rejecting their “fake peace agenda.”
“Artsakh has never been and will never be part of Azerbaijan,” one of the activists, Taron Manukyan, said.
“The man gripping the prime minister’s post is the only one responsible for the blockade of the Berdzor Corridor. If the Civil Contract party remains in power, we will lose not only Artsakh, but also Armenia,” he stated.
