Russia reports ceasefire violation in Artsakh
Russian peacekeepers are investigating a ceasefire violation in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), the Russian Defense Ministry said in a bulletin on the activities of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in the conflict zone.
"One violation of the ceasefire regime has been recorded in the Shushi district. There were no casualties. The Russian peacekeeping forces are investigating the incident," the ministry said on Thursday.
Earlier on Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova expressed concern over the growing hostile rhetoric and incidents in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“We are really concerned about the increase in hostile rhetoric and the number of incidents in Nagorno-Karabakh, and the unwillingness of the parties to find compromises to resolve the situation around the Lachin Corridor,” she told a press briefing, adding that there is no alternative to the peace process.
