Armenian MP calls for response to Azeri disinformation, attacks on Artsakh civilians
MP Tigran Abrahamyan of the opposition Pativ Unem bloc has stressed the urgent need to respond to Azerbaijan’s disinformation campaign and repeated attacks on civilians in Artsakh.
In a social media post on Saturday, he pointed to the Azeri propaganda campaign aimed at portraying Artsakh as an aggressor that fails to fulfil its commitments.
The MP stresses Azerbaijan seeks to legitimize a possible attack on Nagorno-Karabakh under the guise of an "anti-terrorist operation" by falsely accusing Armenia of delivering military personnel and equipment to Artsakh.
“Azerbaijan is mounting its disinformation campaign, which poses enormous risks,” the deputy wrote.
“Second, Azerbaijan systematically opens fire at civilians carrying out agricultural work in an effort to prevent it and aggravate the food security problem, as well as to intimidate the Artsakh people and deepen the climate of fear.
“There is an urgent need to counter to Azerbaijan at all levels, from propaganda to defense. The further course of events depends on the effectiveness of counteraction,” he stated.
