Canada again urges Azerbaijan to reopen Lachin Corridor
Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly has reiterated the call on Azerbaijan to reopen the Lachin Corridor, the sole road connecting Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia and the outside world.
“We continue to call on the Azerbaijani authorities to reopen the Lachin Corridor,” she said in response to a question by MP Jean Yip in the House of Commons on Monday.
“We need to prevent the worsening of the humanitarian crisis. Canada supports the 2020 ceasefire agreement, including the return of the Armenian prisoners of war,” Joly added.
She also voiced Canada's support to the ongoing EU monitoring mission in Armenia.
