Political analyst comments on developments around Iran
Armenian political analyst Suren Sargsyan has reacted to the latest developments around Iran, saying the likelihood of military action against the country by an anti-Iran coalition has slightly decreased.
In a social media post on Wednesday, he claimed the plans of Turkey, Israel and the U.S. to forge a broad anti-Iran coalition and launch military action against it using Azerbaijan as a “bait” failed due to some circumstances, including the devastating earthquake and presidential elections in Turkey, the restoration of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia and the political crisis in Israel
“The U.S. is on the brink of election turmoil, and the Democrats cannot take any risky steps in foreign policy because they have suffered big failures and any shocks or fiascoes would be in favor of the Republican candidates,” Sargsyan wrote.
“Naturally, there is a probability that some countries may resort to external adventurism to divert attention from internal political problems, but not all of them and not at the same time.
“All this means that everyone will be busy with other issues for a short time, which opens up temporary opportunities for us as well, at least to ensure the security of Syunik,” he stated.
