Artsakh denies reports on reopening of Lachin Corridor
The Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Interior Ministry has denied media reports suggesting the Lachin Corridor connecting Artsakh to Armenia reopened on Saturday.
“Azerbaijan has blocked the lifeline road connecting Artsakh to the outside world near the town of Shushi since 12 December 2022,” it said in a statement.
“Artsakh has been sieged for 111 days now, overcoming numerous difficulties and facing humanitarian problems caused by the closure of the road.
“At the moment, it is only possible to carry out humanitarian supplies to Artsakh through the Stepanakert-Berdadzor-Kornidzor-Goris road by Russian peacekeepers and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
“Traffic to and from Armenia remains unpredictably dangerous as long as Azerbaijan’s pseudo-ecologists and military stay on the Shushi road section,” reads the statement.
The Interior Ministry urges people not to give in to fake news and to follow only official reports.
