Armenian MP reacts to latest Azeri provocation
MP Tigran Abrahamyan of the opposition Pativ Unem faction in the Armenian parliament says the obstruction by Azerbaijan of the return of a group of civilians from Armenia to Artsakh on Tuesday is part of its long-standing policy of provocations.
Azerbaijani government-backed “eco-activists”, who have blocked the Artsakh-Armenia highway for over three months now, prevented 27 civilians, including elderly, children and people with disabilities, from returning to their homes in Stepanakert, terrorized them to the point that three fainted and had to be taken to a Stepanakert hospital.
“In general, the actions of Azerbaijan over the past 3-4 months have cemented the approach that the people of Artsakh cannot live within Azerbaijan in any status, because their security would be threatened,” the MP wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.
“Azerbaijan's attacks, advances and shootings at civilians go to show that Azerbaijan does not seek peace, but is promoting the "region without Armenians" concept,” he underscored.
