Exhibition pays tribute to fallen Armenian soldiers
The Artists Union of Armenia on Frday hosted an exhibition to pay tribute to Armenian soldiers killed in the 2020 Artsakh war. The exhibition featured their portraits painted by students.
Areg Mirijanyan, who painted the portraits of fallen soldiers Hayk, Levon and Zhora, said he first tried to get to know the heroes and was amazed by the feats the young men performed on the battlefield.
“It takes immense strength to be so much devoted to the homeland and not to be afraid of death,” he told Panorama.am.
Gayane Hakobyan, the mother of fallen tanker Zhora Martirosyan, described her son as a bright young man. She believes all fallen heroes were “God's chosen ones.”
The exhibition was organized by the soldiers' parents. The painters were awarded with medals at the event.
