Vanetsyan insists on Tehran-Yerevan-Moscow format in interview to Iranian media
Armenian politician Artur Vanetsyan, the leader of the opposition Homeland Party, has given an interview to the Iranian daily Shargh.
Vanetsyan, a former MP and security chief, focused on security challenges, calling for measures to boost security ties between Armenia and Iran, including joint military programs and drills, as well as a joint fight against terrorism.
He highlighted the millennia-old friendship between the Armenian and the Iranian peoples, adding it “should be maintained today, especially when the two states are facing similar and often identical challenges.”
Separately, Vanetsyan insisted on the launch of the Tehran-Yerevan-Moscow trilateral format as a key tool to “defend the South Caucasus against hostile intents.”
