OSCE supports all initiatives to normalize Baku-Yerevan relations, head says
The OSCE Chairmanship supports all initiatives that promote dialogue on the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani told a press conference after a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijani media reported.
“The OSCE reaffirms its desire to build trust between the member countries of the organization and should continue to work to build relations and establish an atmosphere of trust. I spoke with the minister about how exactly Baku can contribute to this process,” Osmani said.
The OSCE chief called for the continuation of direct contacts between Armenia and Azerbaijan in order to normalize relations between the countries.
His comments came after four Armenian soldiers were killed and six wounded in a border skirmish provoked by Azerbaijani forces on Tuesday afternoon.
The Armenian Defense Ministry said Armenian troops came under Azerbaijani fire when they were conducting engineering work near Tegh, a border village in southeastern Syunik Province.
