U.S. Treasury official, Armenian deputy PM discuss economic developments
U.S. Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo on Tuesday met with Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan to discuss recent economic developments in Armenia.
“Deputy Secretary Adeyemo discussed recent economic developments in Armenia. He also highlighted the United States’ global efforts to prevent evasion of U.S. sanctions and export controls imposed on Russia,” the U.S. Department of the Treasury said in its readout of the meeting.
“He affirmed the United States’ commitment to ongoing collaboration between the United States and Armenia,” reads the statement.
The U.S. Commerce Department said Wednesday it is imposing export controls on 28 entities in Armenia, China, Turkey and other countries for acting in support of Russia’s military and defense industrial base.
