People believe in ruling majority's 'There is a future' motto, Pashinyan says
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan believes there is the required optimism in Armenia for building the future in the country.
“The key question is the following: is there the sufficient reserve of optimism in Armenia for not only talking about or planning the future but also building and realizing it in these turbulent times? Absolutely yes! Against all odds, there is the required optimism in Armenia for speaking about the future, planning and building the future,” Pashinyan said, addressing lawmakers on Tuesday.
According to him, the media, public debates or global situation does not inspire optimism. "But right now, 55,000 apartments are under construction in Republic of Armenia,” he stressed, adding it makes up 6% of the entire housing stock (12,2% in multi-apartment buildings) in the history of Armenia.
“And today, not only the wealthy people are buying houses, but also the middle class, who have received the chance to work, create and see the results of their work due to the government’s economic policy,” Pashinyan said.
“Amid the border instability, fragile security and collapse of the world order, tens of thousands of citizens are buying new apartments in Armenia, and thousands of investors are building them. I believe that this can only mean one thing – the people believe in the government’s peace agenda, people believe that peace will prevail and they will have the chance to live happily and create in their own homeland, otherwise there would be no sense in buying new homes, let alone building them. People believe in the ruling majority’s “There is a future” motto,” the premier stated.
