Passenger aircraft successfully lands at Syunik airport
A passenger aircraft carried out a successful test flight from the Armenian capital of Yerevan to Kapan, a town in Syunik Province, on Wednesday morning.
The L-410 UVP-E20 twin-engine short-range aircraft, manufactured by a Czech company and intended for 19 passengers, landed at Kapan’s Syunik Airport at 10:58am local time.
The plane took off from Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport at 10:10am, the Syunik regional administration said.
The Kapan airport was renovated in accordance with international standards and certified by the Civil Aviation Committee in 2020.
“This flight is indeed historic as there have been no flights to and from the Kapan airport since the 1990s, except for one private flight carried out in 2017,” the authorities said.
