French foreign minister visits Azerbaijan
France's Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna began a visit to Azerbaijan on Wednesday
Colonna is due to hold talks with President Ilham Aliyev and her Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov.
After visiting Baku, Colonna will travel to Yerevan before making her way to Tbilisi on Friday.
During her trips to Baku and Yerevan, the minister “will express France's commitment to supporting negotiations between the two countries to achieve a just and lasting peace respecting territorial integrity and international laws”, the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs said in a statement earlier.
“She will also call for ensuring the rights of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh and immediately restoring movement along the Lachin Corridor,” it added.
