Rep. Schiff: U.S. should recognize Artsakh's independence
The Unites States should recognize Artsakh’s independence and right to self-determination, Congressman Adam Schiff said on Friday, also calling for sanctions against the Aliyev regime.
He joined the Armenian-American community in Glendale in commemorating the 108th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide on April 24.
“I was honored to spend time with the Armenian-American community in Glendale this week to commemorate the 108th anniversary of the Armenian genocide,” Rep. Schiff wrote on Facebook, sharing photos.
“The U.S. should recognize Artsakh’s independence and right to self-determination, and cut off funding to Azerbaijan. Baku should be sanctioned, not rewarded, for its war crimes,” he said.
Adam Schiff introduced a resolution in the U.S. Congress on Monday calling for the recognition of Artsakh’s independence and condemnation of Azerbaijan’s continued aggression against Armenia and Artsakh.
