Poll: Employees are sometimes exploited at work in Armenia
Panorama.am conducted a survey among the Yerevan residents on International Workers' Day celebrated on May 1.
The respondents were asked, among other things, whether good education and knowledge guarantee high-paying jobs and whether labor rights are protected in Armenia.
Many of them claim that labor rights are often violated, while higher education does not always help find high-paying jobs.
"No rights are protected at all," said one of the respondents, a taxi driver.
"Workers’ rights are not protected in Armenia yet," another claimed.
A female respondent stated that sometimes employers exploit their employees at work because people think that otherwise they will simply lose their jobs.
When asked whether good education and knowledge pave the way to high-paying jobs, a respondent said: "You have to work on yourself, I am speaking from experience. Rights and duties go side by side.”
"My grandson got good education, and now he gets a good salary," said an elderly man.
