Moscow to also host Armenia-Azerbaijan talks, MP says
Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov are also expected to hold talks in Moscow soon, senior pro-government MP Arman Yeghoyan has said.
The U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken hosted a meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani ministers in Washington on Monday. The talks are expected to last a few days.
"According to a preliminary agreement, Moscow is also set to host a meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers,” Yeghoyan, who represents the ruling Civil Contract party, told reporters on Tuesday.
He stressed that the Washington talks “don't contradict the upcoming meeting in Moscow.”
"Armenia has high expectations for the negotiations. They focus on the entire spectrum of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, all outstanding issues, and, naturally, everything will be done to reach agreements on all these issues," Yeoyan said.
Speaking about the Artsakh issue, the deputy said: “We are now doing everything we can in order for the Baku-Stepanakert dialogue to take place, that is, for Stepanakert to become a party to negotiations.”
