Dialogue key to lasting peace in South Caucasus, Blinken says
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken shared photos of his trilateral meeting with the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan held in Washington on Monday.
He insisted on dialogue between the two countries as key to reaching a lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
“Hosting peace talks this week with Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at our new facility at the George P. Schultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center,” Blinken said in a tweet.
“Dialogue is key to reaching a lasting peace in the South Caucasus region,” he stated.
Earlier, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said they discussed the regional security and the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“The humanitarian situation resulting from the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan was touched upon,” the ministry added.
