Azerbaijan planting land mines in seized Armenian territory – Tatoyan Foundation
The Tatoyan Foundation, run by Armenia’s former Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan, has completed its fact-finding tour to the border villages of Nerkin Hand, Srashen and Chakaten in the Kapan community of Armenia's Syunik Province, as well as the Kapan-Chakaten road.
The evidence collected confirm that Azerbaijani troops stationed near the border settlements continue to illegally reinforce their positions, disrupting the local residents’ security and daily life, the fund said on Tuesday, sharing a video.
Arman Tatoyan states that Azerbaijani servicemen are firing shots from their combat positions close to the villages in an effort to intimidate the civilians.
"People have been deprived of the opportunity to use their agricultural lands and pastures,” he says in the video.
“They [Azerbaijani troops] are planting land mines in the areas adjacent to their positions in Armenia’s sovereign territory and are committing robberies," Tatoyan claims.
