Russian Foreign Ministry declines to comment on Armenia-Azerbaijan talks in Washington
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has refused to comment on the ongoing talks between the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers in the United States, arguing they are being held without Russia’s participation.
Speaking at a press briefing on Wednesday, she said that Moscow will be able to express its opinion when a final statement on the outcome of the meetings is released.
Zakharova reiterated the importance of implementing the trilateral agreements.
“We remain committed to the implementation of all provisions of the trilateral agreements reached between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in 2020-2022,” she stated.
Referring to a planned meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers in Russia, Zakharova said that both Yerevan and Baku had confirmed their readiness to hold it in Moscow. “The timeframes will be announced later,” she added.
