Azerbaijan shells Armenian border positions; 4 soldiers wounded
Four Armenian soldiers were wounded in a fresh Azerbaijani attack on Armenian border positions early on Thursday.
The Armenian Defense Ministry said Azerbaijani forces began shelling its positions near the border village of Sotk at 6 a.m. local time. The Armenian army took relevant defensive and preventive measures in response, it said.
The authorities said tensions in the area eased as of 10:25 a.m., adding the situation was relatively stable in other border sections.
“The health condition of the two wounded servicemen is assessed as satisfactory, while the other two soldiers are in moderate condition. The lives of the wounded servicemen are not in danger at the moment,” the Defense Ministry added.
