Opposition MP: Armenian leadership continues conciliatory policy as Azerbaijan demands more
Opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan criticized the Armenian leadership’s conciliatory position in peace talks with Azerbaijan, stressing Baku is laying out new demands.
"Turkey and the ongoing developments in the country greatly affect the current situation on the frontline, but they are not the only reason for such a turn of events,” he wrote on Facebook on Saturday, referring to the clashes provoked by Azerbaijan on the border with Armenia in recent days, which has left one Armenian soldier dead and several others wounded.
“The problems in the ongoing negotiation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan are those which have led to clashes and aggression in the post-war period.
“The Armenian authorities continue to make concessions in negotiations, whereas Azerbaijan's demands are increasing dramatically.
“The happenings on the border over the past three days is just a way of their manifestation. As long as there are reasons for destabilization, they will repeatedly manifest themselves in different ways on the border,” the deputy stated.
