Economist: Armenia can't sign any document making Artsakh a part of Azerbaijan
The Armenian authorities are not authorized to sign any document which would recognize Artsakh as a part of Azerbaijan, economist Suren Sahakyan said on Monday.
“Armenia can't sign any document which would make the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic a part of Azerbaijan,” he wrote on Facebook, citing a 1992 decision of the Armenian Supreme Council.
In his press remarks after the Brussels talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Sunday, European Council President Charles Michel said the two leaders “confirmed their unequivocal commitment to the 1991 Almaty Declaration and the respective territorial integrity of Armenia (29,800 km2) and Azerbaijan (86,600 km2).”
Sahakyan, a former member of the Citizen's Decision's party, accused Pashinyan of "arrogation". "At thus stage, all those who claim to go to jail in the future have to reveal themselves," he said.
