Artsakh parliament speaker urges president to resign
Speaker of Artsakh’s National Assembly Artur Tovmasyan has urged the country’s President Arayik Harutyunyan to step down.
“Mr. President, you should either submit resignation or initiate a vote of confidence. If the people don't trust you, you will have to step down,” he said in a statement on Thursday.
Tovmasyan added that he would also quit as parliament speaker if Harutyunyan did not survive the confidence vote.
The parliament speaker also called for the establishment of a state defense committee comprising former State Minister Ruben Vardanyan and politician Samvel Babayan.
