Kashen mine, farmers in Artsakh come under Azeri fire
The Azerbaijani military violated the ceasefire in the northern, eastern and central sections of the contact line with Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) on Thursday, targeting farmers and the Kashen mine.
In a statement on Friday, the Artsakh Defense Ministry said that Azerbaijani forces used firearms and AGS-17 automatic grenade launchers.
Azerbaijani troops opened fire on a group of farmers working in the field of Berdashen village and fired AGS-17 grenade launchers towards the Kashen mine.
No casualties were reported.
The Russian peacekeeping contingent’s command has been reported about the ceasefire breach.
“As of 10am May 19, the situation on the line of contact is relatively stable,” the ministry said.
