Body armor saves Armenian soldier after Azeri shooting
Body armor saved an Armenian serviceman after he came under Azerbaijani shooting on Friday, Armenia’s Defense Ministry said.
“On May 19, at around 5 p.m., a soldier of the Azerbaijani armed forces fired an aimed single shot at a soldier of the armed forces of the Republic of Armenia who was on combat alert duty in a combat position located in the southwestern part of the border zone,” the ministry said in a statement.
“The Armenian serviceman was not wounded as he was wearing a body armor at the time of the shooting,” it added.
The situation on the frontier was characterized by relative stability as of 7pm Friday.
