Opposition MP insists on Pashinyan’s resignation
MP Hayk Mamijanyan of the opposition Pativ Unem faction on Tuesday insisted on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation after the latter confirmed his plans to recognize Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) as part of Azerbaijan.
Speaking at a news conference on Monday, Pashinyan reiterated his government’s readiness to recognize “Azerbaijan's territorial integrity of 86,600 square kilometers” through a bilateral peace treaty, saying the area “includes Nagorno-Karabakh”.
"I believe that Pashinyan will have to resign under public pressure, but different dictators of the world have left in different ways,” he told reporters in the parliament.
“I would advise Pashinyan to find out how this or that dictator have left office and decide his fate himself. Every second of Pashinyan's stay in power inflicts great damage to the two Armenian states,” the MP said.
