Opposition MP: Pashinyan unveiled 'roadmap' for surrender of Artsakh and Armenia
The opposition warned about Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s plans to recognize Azerbaijani control of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) during its anti-government protests last year, MP Ishkhan Saghatelyan of the opposition Hayastan faction said on Tuesday.
His comments came after Pashinyan confirmed his government’s readiness to recognize Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan at a news conference on Monday.
“Nikol Pashinyan essentially unveiled a roadmap and a schedule for the surrender of Artsakh and Armenia in recent days,” Saghatelyan, head of the ARF Armenia Supreme Council, told a press briefing in the parliament.
He believes Pashinyan will presumably complete a new “capitulation” deal with Azerbaijan portraying it as a peace treaty in October.
“The Armenian people have 5-6 months to stop the surrender of the country,” the MP stated.
He also unveiled the opposition plans to resume demonstrations aimed at ousting Pashinyan and his government in the near future.
"Pashinyan's statements put the Armenian statehood at risk,” Saghatelyan said.
