Armenian chess players among leaders of 6th Sharjah Masters
There are 2 rounds left until the end of the 6th Sharjah Masters 2023 and Armenian chess players are among the leaders again, the Armenian Chess Federation reports.
GMs Haik Martirosyan, Shant Sargsyan, Manuel Petrosyan and Samvel Ter-Sahakyan are participating in the Masters Section of the tournament.
In this section the first place is shared by six grandmasters who scored 5 points out of 7, including Haik Martirosyan.
In the penultimate, 8th round, Haik will play with white pieces against American-Armenian GM Samuel Sevian.
Shant Sargsyan and Manuel Petrosyan have 4 points, and Samvel Ter-Sahakyan has 3 points.
Emin Ohanyan and Mariam Mkrtchyan are participating in the Challengers Section.
In this event the first place is shared by four chess players who scored 5.5 points out of 7, including Emin Ohanyan.
Mariam Mkrtchyan has 4.5 points.
