Putin hails Armenia's GDP growth at EAEU summit
Armenia benefited the most as part of cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a EAEU summit in Moscow on Thursday.
He noted that the country has the highest rate of economic growth.
“Cooperation within the EAEU is proceeding very smoothly. As the President of Kazakhstan just said, Armenia is the main beneficiary, because the country has the highest rate of economic growth.” Putin said.
He asked Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who is in attendance, to remind him how much the GDP had grown in Armenia.
Pashinyan said that last year the GDP growth was 12,6%, and 12,1% this year. “12,1% GDP growth is certainly a serious figure,” the Russian leader remarked.
