YSU faculty head arrested on bribery charges
Hayk Sargsyan, Dean of the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management was arrested on bribery charges on Thursday, Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee told Panorama.am.
Sargsyan and a group of YSU professors are accused of receiving bribes from their students in return for better grades from February to March 2023.
Associate Professor Gagik Tonoyan and a parent of one of the students who bribed them have also been remanded in pre-trial detention, while the deputy head of the faculty is placed under house arrest.
They are facing four to ten years in prison if convicted.
