Peskov says Yerevan, Baku could sign peace deal in foreseeable future
The current circumstances make it possible to believe that Armenia and Azerbaijan may sign a peace treaty in the foreseeable future, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met in Moscow late on Thursday for fresh talks hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The deputy prime ministers of the three countries will meet in Moscow next week to iron out technical issues.
“They will meet in Moscow to iron out the pending problems, discuss their settlement and agree on the details," RIA Novosti quoted Peskov as saying.
“As it was announced yesterday, circumstances have significantly changed, which makes it possible to reach the signing of a peace treaty in the foreseeable future,” the spokesman added.
