Political analyst: Ruling team concedes Armenia's interests to remain in power
Political analyst Stepan Danielyan has accused Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s administration of relinquishing Armenia’s interests and dividing society to gain support from foreign forces and remain in power.
“Any government must have legitimacy, both external and internal,” he wrote on Facebook on Friday.
"Either the authorities enjoy the people’s trust and build their relations with the outside world based on it, or they rely on external actors to remain in power and oppresses the people with their help.
“In the second case, they have to make concessions running counter to the country’s national interests in order to use external forces against their own people.
“We have the second case in Armenia now, as the current government is conceding our national interests to gain support from external actors, ensuing a split in society to the end.
“It is no coincidence that all the propaganda narratives of the incumbent authorities are built on foreign policy in terms of sponsors and concessions,” the analyst stated.
