Baku hasn't yet allowed ICRC officials to visit Armenian soldiers captured on Friday
Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have not yet been allowed to meet with two Armenian soldiers captured by Azerbaijani forces on Friday.
“At this point, we have no information. We are closely following the situation,” ICRC Armenia Office Communications Program Manager Zara Amatuni told PastInfo on Saturday.
Late on Friday, Armenia’s Defense Ministry said it had lost communication with two servicemen supplying food to combat positions. Their vehicle was found on the inter-positional road on Saturday.
“Extensive work is underway to reveal the circumstances of the abduction of the Armenian servicemen by Azerbaijan,” it said in a statement on Saturday.
Azerbaijan has confirmed the capture of the Armenian soldiers, but has not yet allowed ICRC officials to visit them.
