Azeri forces destroy memorial to WWII victims in Berdzor
Azerbaijani forces have razed to the ground the Memorial of Glory in the town of Berdzor (Lachin), Artsakh’s State Service for Preservation of the Historical Environment reported on Sunday.
Located on a hill in central Berdzor, the monument was built in the Soviet era to commemorate the victims of the 1941-45 Great Patriotic War (World War II).
It also paid tribute to the Armenians who heroically fell during the Artsakh Liberation War. The names of the heroes were engraved on three walls of the memorial. The Memorial of Glory included three khachkars (cross-stones).
