Armenia issues arrest warrant for ex-official over drug trafficking
The National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia has issued an arrest warrant for Mihran Poghosyan, the fugitive former chief compulsory enforcement officer of Armenia.
Poghosyan, owner of Mrgeni LLC, its director and warehouse keeper have been charged with large-scale drug smuggling and illegal drug trade. They latter have been arrested.
The NSS officers seized about one ton of cocaine bound for Armenia on Wednesday. The law-enforcement agency said the cocaine was found in fruit boxes imported by an Armenian company from Ecuador via Panama, Italy and Georgia.
