Mkhitaryan to be fit for Champions League final
Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to be fit for next month’s Champions League final against Man City, SempreInter.com reported, citing Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Mkhitaryan is currently recovering from a quadriceps injury. He suffered a strain to the rectus femoris muscle in his left thigh during the Nerazzurri’s Champions League semifinal second leg win over AC Milan.
The Armenian has missed out on two league matches as well as the Coppa Italia final against Fiorentina. However, he has always been aiming for the clash with City to make a return.
Mkhitaryan has emerged as a key player for Inter this season since joining from Roma last summer. The 34-year-old, who has also played for Borussia Dortmund and Shakhtar Donetsk, has made 48 appearances across all competitions.
According to the Gazzetta, there is every chance that Mkhitaryan can make it 49 against City.
The midfielder’s recovery work has him well on track to be fit for the final in Istanbul.
