Ruben Vardanyan: 30,000 children living under blockade in Artsakh for over six months
Artsakh’s former State Minister Ruben Vardanyan urged the international community to take action to protect the rights of 30,000 children in Artsakh under the Azerbaijani blockade on International Children's Day celebrated on June 1.
"Today, when you celebrate Children's Day, think for a moment about the 30,000 Artsakh children who have been living under blockade for more than six months now,” he said in a statement.
“30,000 children are deprived of their basic rights. 30,000 children are living under constant threats and aggression from Azerbaijan. Unlike many of their peers living in "safe" parts of the world, they already know what blockade, cold and malnutrition are. These children have already learned what it's like to live in constant fear of losing their homeland, friends and homes...
“Today I urge everyone, individuals and organizations, especially international ones which promote children's rights, to think about the children of Artsakh before they publish beautiful photos and make statements, and think about what needs to be done to protect the Artsakh children whose rights have been violated for six months now,” Vardanyan underscored.
