EU's Michel hopes Armenian, Azeri leaders will confirm their will to normalize relations in Chisinau
European Council President Charles Michel hopes that the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders will reaffirm their will to normalize relations between the two countries at a meeting in Chisinau on Thursday, he told reporters upon his arrival at the summit venue.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will meet together with Charles Michel, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on the sidelines of the second European Political Community (EPC) summit in the Moldovan capital.
The top EU diplomat attacked importance to today’s meeting.
"We made some progress and I hope it will be an occasion to confirm a common political will to normalize the relationships between both countries," Michel said.
