Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan insisted on Azerbaijan’s public recognition of Armenia’s 29,800-square-kilometer territorial integrity, adding otherwise concerns over Baku’s possible territorial claims against Yerevan would remain.

"The Azerbaijani armed forces invaded Armenian territory several times over the past three years, starting from May 21, 2021. Even if there are no massive attacks, we have seen that there is a misunderstanding with regard to the village of Tegh," Mirzoyan said in the parliament on Monday in response to opposition Hayastan faction MP Gegham Manukyan’s question about territorial numbers raised by Armenia.

"Moreover, misunderstanding is a rather neutral word and implies lack of bad intentions, but there are fears that an attempt is being made to grab new territories from Armenia and we want the border delimitation to be carried out as precisely and as quickly as possible,” the FM added.

Mirzoyan also said Azerbaijan had not yet finally agreed to Armenia’s proposal to delimit their shared border based on 1975 maps. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev only said at the Brussels meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that Baku did not oppose it.
